Record-breaking climate disasters reveal cracks in Canada’s alert system

Over the last year, my colleagues and I have been investigating Canada's National Public Alert System, Alert Ready - owners of the Amber Alert system. Our work was given to the writers at Canada's National Observer which was used in an article, highlighting the cracks of the system.

With all the natural disasters happening around the world, particularly in Canada, it's critical the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission sees the gaps in Pelmorex's system, and does what it needs to in order for Canadians to receive emergency alerts when they need it most.

Investigations done by myself, Maria Kestane, Tessa Bennett, Scott McLaughlin, James Westman, and Antonio Pelaez Barcelo. Editorial oversight provided by Lara King and Terra Ciolfe.
